I was asked recently to write down what community means to me. I have worked hard to network and bring people together. I joke about my modern day commune where we don’t live together, but we share resources and help each other out. There are times though when I feel quite alone and without community despite this network.

Kids are People too
I have come to the conclusion that as adults we often forget that children are people too. Children create unique relationships, have their own set of boundaries and have unique needs. They are not an extension of their parents.
Growth Mindset and Cognitive Reframing
The world is very cruel at times. It can be easy to feel overwhelmed in our hopelessness and sorrow. Feelings are ok. It’s ok to feel sad, angry or frustrated. We don’t want to get stuck there. Using these techniques may help us to create healthier minds which can allow us to feel more satisfied in the lives we live.

Mindful Parenting
Often we end up with grumpy, frustrated kids that when asked are unsure what they need. How do we teach children how to understand and express their needs?
